The one thing my RL Dad never said to me

We basically 'Pretended' to each other his whole life [Died 2+ years ago] He was hiding his Korean war PTSD and I was hiding I was Gay [I'd have been kicked out, disowned etc] that frustrated the hell out of us so we basically yelled and vented our frustration on each other all the time

my only 'Memories' of him are 'him yelling' basically [for the whole 21 years I lived at home]

That is rough; having to hide who you are and him having to deal with PTSD would make for a very stressful home life.

Yeah, I couldn't wait to grow up and leave home, didn't help 'realizing i'm gay' in the mid 80s either [AIDS paranoia etc] and no internet point of reference like today [I thought I was 'mentally ill' fantasizing over cartoon charas etc] came close to killing myself on my 18th and 21st birthdays
