The only thing adult about there relationship is that it didn’t take the whole season just for them to hold hands. And your thread on how there not toxic didn’t really say much, in relationships there is play fighting and messing around sure but not straight up slapping your partner round the face in public. Plus theres petty jealousy that is kinda a constant though out when miyamura spends anytime with anyone else other hori. Part of a relationship is trusting your partner in that they won’t do anything to disrespect or harm your relationship with them, and that key element is very lacking in horimiya. @GoshaX Well, i prefer watching where the romance is natural and not there just for the sake of story, something like ReLife(manga) and Spice and Wolf where the two main leads actually need each other. Horimia felt like im watching some kdrama in anime(i hate them), but again im only judging from what i’ve seen that is upto 4 episodes so idk how the story progresses further.
@nishant0 I feel like their romance is natural, because they are in the same class and they catch feelings, I think that is really normal and natural. I think that in general humans need each other just by being there, you know what I mean? I think you should give it another try. |

I mean it would take a while to list all the romance anime and manga I think are better so I’ll just say what I dislike about horimiya:
- glorifying toxic relationship traits e.g possessiveness/pettyness, high levels of impulsiveness, and harassment (miyamura hitting hori, even if it consensual the show still acts like it’s an ok thing to do to your partner(which it’s not)).
-All the characters in the series act like they are under 13 years of age when most of them are meant to be highschoolers (15-18)
- 90% of the scenarios in the anime come from some sort of lack of understanding/ unwillingness to understand which is just gets tedious after awhile, also again just showing traits of 12-13 year old which they are just not.
- and of course the biggest complaint this show gets which is its rushed pacing and missing content which is is the reason this season it happening in the first place.
Of course it not all bad. The comedy while not the best I’ve ever seen it does have there moments of genius. And I like the green haired guy. He’s fun.

@kakashis_sidehoe I think the hitting part its not like actually hitting, its a love playing hitting, I have lots of friends in relationship and me personally have this type of interaction with their partner. |

@SparCy Its not just holding hand, they get on bed they kiss, they do all the things that couples do, which never happened in other anime, which makes this great. I feel like the hitting and stuff in the show are all love and playful, it is not domestic violence that you are hitting someone with rage. Hori is into this type of stuff so it is consider as love imo. Also I think that it is a exaggeration on how hard they are hitting each other. The jealous part I think is really normal, you are correct that "Part of a relationship is trusting your partner in that they won’t do anything to disrespect or harm your relationship with them" Even if you trust your partner you can still feel jealous, because you want them to spend more time with you instead of your friend, two things can be true at the same time, you trust your partner but you want more from them because you love more. I think the jealous in this show is not a toxic jealous and bad jealous, its not that Hori doesn't trust him. |

And of course jealousy is a natural emotion to have, but with hori it’s when ever she finds out miyamura is out with someone other than her she goes full on stalker mode, which is not healthy in the least. Also theres alot more to a relationship than kissing and getting on a bed. The level of physical touch doesn’t define how good of a romance anime it is. If that was the case then every h3ntai must be a 10/10 in your books. Most romance animes have there main cast between the ages of 13-15 at the age where most people can be a bit shy when it comes to romance so it’s natural they aren’t as frisky as a 17 year old couple. |

@SparCy I dont think Hori ever physically stalk on him, Most romance anime is in high school which is 16-18, and 99% of high school romance anime they dont do any normal thing a couple should do. Of course physical touch doesn’t define how good of a romance anime are. My point is that the lack of other anime having the basic thing, but Horimia does makes it great. |

I'm not sure if you're aware of kinks?? because that's what it is. it's a joke about masochism. the characters, in my opinion, act like high schoolers. idk if you've met a 12 year old recently but they most definitely act way younger than however the characters act in this show. if you're talking about immature behavior, welcome to high school. and honestly fair about the pacing, but the quick pacing of hori & miyamuras relationship was my favorite thing about the show. no beating around the bush, no back and forth. just realizing feelings. you're def entitled to your feelings! just trying against your points a bit. |

By the age of 17 you are your own person and you know how to speak your mind if there’s something bothering you, especially if it to people that are your close friends/partner, which they are in horimiya. |

Horimiya and Kaguya-sama share both perspectives however. I'm part of the male audience and FuruBa was the most enjoyable for me out of that 3. You're from the fewer percentages. And you know more than anyone how heavily reliant it is on the female side in the story. And how the reverse harem works. Yuki and that Cat Guy I think... |

By the age of 17 you are your own person and you know how to speak your mind if there’s something bothering you, especially if it to people that are your close friends/partner, which they are in horimiya. I can agree that over-possessiveness is unhealthy, yeah. My thing is, like... most of the things you take issue with are mostly used for either comedy or plot devices. so Hori getting jealous was to set up a moment between Hori and Miyamura where they needed to be honest. Hori is set up to be a character that isn't good at voicing what she feels (repeatedly saying "idiot" when she's flustered, not being able to approach Miyamura about his first name) so her jumping to conclusions and not being able to put it into words makes sense for her. Her actions are by no means justified, but they move the characters' relationship forward and gives her a chance to grow. The masochism thing is really just a comedic device. it's used like a couple times for funnies. Misunderstandings are also heavily used in romance anime to create drama and conflict that becomes easily resolved through communication. They're used both for comedy and plot points. That said though, I'm a strong believer of - if you don't find something funny, that's totally okay and you don't need to. people have their own preferences and that's okay. same goes for the misunderstandings. if that is an annoying plot device for you (understandably - I don't mind when they're used but I HATE when it goes unresolved for a long period of time) that is a valid opinion. thanks for letting me write an essay or two, i respect your feelings, just wanted to take my try at challenging them :> |

I, for one, don't like Romance anime, but even I know Horimiya is not a good Romance show. At its best, it's just decent. The only character worth talking about is Daddy Hori, he singlehandedly made this show a 6 instead of a 5. But if you think Horimiya is the best you've ever watched, then good. |

Of course it not all bad. The comedy while not the best I’ve ever seen it does have there moments of genius. And I like the green haired guy. He’s fun.
-All the characters in the series act like they are under 13 years of age when most of them are meant to be highschoolers (15-18)

just my opinion on your opinions lol
possessiveness: you mean being in love? or..
being possessive is not a healthy thing when one sided or too far, but if both people in the relationship agree over it, and it isn't negatively impacting their social lives or mental health, it's normal. they just deeply love each other and want to be around each other.
the hitting thing...
@StarryyChai straight up facts |

This is by far the best romance anime I have ever watched, or maybe the best anime I ever watched period. I feel I am crazy for saying this but there is a feeling that is tell me this is the best, I don't know why. I have the sad and sour feeling of this show ending because I know that I will never see this show continue again. I will go into deep shit and being super sad after this show ends feeling deep emptiness and void deep in my heart. Das Crazy

I personally like horimiya, but in terms of romance, I prefer Toradora's more. And, in terms of comedy, you should try Komi can't communicate instead.
@rakhahaykal I watched kaguya, and it’s not a better romance than horimiya. |

Story wise there's a handful romance that are significantly better
In terms of characters? Horimiya honestly has the most appealing and charismatic character-cast out of any romance I've watched, both personality and character design (if Monogatari Series doesn't count as a romance)

@Euroqean this just feels down to earth, most romance anime takes 200 ep to even get together and than another 50 just to touch hands. |

I would say despite mushoku tensei not having romance tag it's better than horimiya this season in romance genre. Fitz(sylphiette)×rudy.
@mr_simp2000 mushoku tenesi, also one of mine best anime of all time. But just in romance, horimiya still beats it. |

While I know there are objectively better romances out there, I still feel Horimiya is the best romcom. Like I have seen Toradora, Kaguya and loads of other popular romances, but none of them have made me feel as good as Horimiya. I guess I love that it doesn't have the convoluted drama that most of the romances have. Sometimes you just wanna feel good and see something wholesome and vanilla. That's the unique trait of this anime that makes it stand out. |

Horimiya is eh… WAY too much high school melodrama, amd people over exaggerate how good the characters are. |

@Aakash_ this is the only romance anime that I watch that I am afraid it will end. This is a true romance because I romance are just simple slice of life. Not the grand stuff that other romance anime has. This is realistic |

I see many threads about best romance anime, but I never saw anyone mentioning Tsuki ga Kirei in them(It's my favourite in terms of romance). |

I think the second season has strayed away from romance to more of a slice of life, and I think that has had an overwhelming positive response. And honestly, I’ve really loved that change aswell, I haven’t watched love is war but Toradora is my favourite romance anime and I think this is a pretty different vibe but it’s definitely up there. P.S. I think it’s just a good high quality show and the artists behind it are passionate, that’s probably why you get the feeling that the show is amazing. |

I found Horimiya to be very middle of the road. Still enjoyable, but when the guys design changed to generic shoujo hot guy it wasn't as good for me. Should've kept the glasses and longer hair, it made him more unique. |

Fruits Basket is a bit of an exaggeration. It appeals as a shoujo. It's hard to watch for the male audience.
Horimiya and Kaguya-sama share both perspectives however.

You're from the fewer percentages. And you know more than anyone how heavily reliant it is on the female side in the story. And how the reverse harem works. Yuki and that Cat Guy I think...
@MagicWasTaken20 No, it's more like the opposite. I know that how heavily reliant it is on the DRAMA and almost nothing to do with being a shoujo. FuruBa S3 was even the top 1 once, because you can watch it and enjoy it as a guy, because the shoujo aspect is so little, almost completely irrelevant. |
